Privacy Policy

NotiSift is an Android application that filters and prioritizes your notifications using on-device processing. We are committed to your privacy: your notification data is never sent over a network. This privacy policy explains what data NotiSift accesses, how it is stored entirely on your device, and our use of third-party advertising services.

NotiSift accesses the following data through the Android NotificationListenerService API: • Notification content (app name, title, body text, category, channel ID, priority flags) • Your interactions with notifications (open, dismiss, ignore signals) • Time of day and date when notifications arrive • App package names for per-app scoring and rule matching This data is accessed solely for the purpose of computing a priority score and making a suppress/pass-through decision in real time. It is stored locally in a Room (SQLite) database on your device and never transmitted anywhere.

NotiSift does not collect, transmit, sell, or share: • Notification content with any server, third party, or cloud service • Your identity, email, name, or any personally identifiable information • Analytics, crash reports, or telemetry • Device identifiers (IMEI, etc.) directly for our own use • Location data Note: While NotiSift itself does not collect personal data, we use Google AdMob to serve advertisements. AdMob may collect and use your device's advertising ID and other usage data (see the "Third-party advertising" section below).

All data is stored locally in an encrypted Android app database (Room/SQLite) under your device's private app storage. This storage is: • Accessible only to NotiSift — other apps cannot read it • Deleted automatically when you uninstall NotiSift • Subject to the 7-day automatic purge policy (free: 8 hours of digest history; Pro: 7 days) You can clear all stored data at any time by clearing app data in Android Settings → Apps → NotiSift → Storage → Clear data.

NotiSift uses Google AdMob to display banner advertisements within the app. AdMob may collect and use your device's Advertising ID, IP address, and usage data to provide personalized advertising and analyze ad performance. This data collection is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting your Android device settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads) and resetting or deleting your advertising ID.

NotiSift requests the following Android permissions: BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE — Required to read incoming notifications. This is the core functionality of the app. Without it, NotiSift cannot operate. POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+) — Used to post the grouped digest notification when a focus session ends. RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — Used to restart WorkManager scheduled tasks (digest delivery, purge) after device reboot. INTERNET — Used exclusively by Google AdMob to fetch and display banner advertisements. AD_ID — Used by Google AdMob for advertising and analytics purposes. No location, camera, microphone, contacts, or storage (external) permissions are requested or used.

NotiSift Pro is available as a one-time in-app purchase through the Google Play Store. All payment processing is handled exclusively by Google Play Billing. NotiSift does not receive, process, or store any payment card information. Google's privacy policy governs any data collected during the purchase flow.

NotiSift is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the version date below and, where appropriate, notify users via an in-app notice on next launch. Continued use of NotiSift after changes constitute acceptance of the revised policy.
